Crusader Arming Sword Decorated in the Style of the Order of Knights Hospitaller
The sword originally came into my possession as an unremarkable short dueling sword. It was industrially produced and lacked character. Since then, it has been completely recrafted to reflect a more historic design inspired by the Crusades and high medieval aesthetic.
In the recrafting process, each part of the sword was extensively modified using hand tools, somewhat accurate to the era it references. The main visual feature is the tooled leather handle, decorated with typography and the Order's insignia, highlighted with black paint. The metal fittings are heavily weathered to suggest significant use, including a broken guard with a 'temporary' fix.
The sword is complete with a simple leather scabbard in early medieval style, featuring integrated belt slots and rain flaps.
